Salt Lake City International Airport

Salt Lake City International Airport (SLC) is the 23rd busiest airport in North America and the 85th busiest in the world. More than 370 flights depart daily to 99 nonstop destinations. Rental car counters are located on the ground floor of the parking garage, directly across from the terminal buildings.

Snowbird is only 29 miles (47km – 45 minute drive) from the Salt Lake City International Airport. Many companies offer airport shuttle transport to Snowbird. If Snowbird is your only destination , then renting a car is not necessary to get there or to get around. If you’re doing a road trip or staying in Salt Lake City then renting a car may be handy, but not essential.

Lift Tickets

A discounted walk-up rate is available, for single day tickets, at the ticket window. The walkup rate for SIGMA attendees is $169 for weekend dates and $154 for weekdays. (Regular for the public are $184 and $167).

If you want to book a multi-day ticket (ie. a 3 out of 5 day), the best way to purchase at discount would be through the web link below.

Individuals can order tickets though the main website ticket portal, Snowbird Tickets. The earlier tickets are purchased through this site the larger the discount typically. This is a rate that is offered to anyone who purchases online ahead of time. The rate will increase the closer it gets to the desired date or as more tickets are sold.

Capitalizing on the Changing Fuel Market

John Eichberger and Jeff Hove, Fuels Institute
Presented by the Fuel Foundation

The transportation market is changing, as are the expectations being placed on fuel marketers to be responsive to these changes. Whether those expectations are coming from governments, financial entities, society in general or your customers, how you evolve your fuel offer will be placed under the microscope. You have to prepare to deal with increased demand for low carbon fuels, providing electricity for battery electric vehicles, meeting the complex demands of the commercial vehicle sector and satisfying external pressures to improve your overall environmental footprint – that is a lot to juggle in addition to your core operations. When you add to the mix the uncertainty that comes with constantly changing political winds, figuring out how to manage the market can be daunting. Further, as fuel suppliers, your customers may lean upon you to help educate them on methods to reduce their carbon emissions and deal with changing conditions.

During this interactive workshop, the Fuels Institute, which has been studying all of these topics and more for the past ten years, will leverage its peer reviewed research and the diverse perspectives of its membership to dive deep into the factors that are influencing the market and provide pragmatic insights into what might be affecting your business today and what might be in store in the next 10 – 15 years. Capitalizing on the experience and expertise of your industry colleagues, you will then work together to explore strategies to take advantage of new opportunities, to mitigate potential threats and position your business for long-term success regardless how the market develops or who is pulling the strings.

Specific topics to be covered during the workshop include:
1) Reality of the EV transition – When and how can you profit from it?
2) Lowering your carbon footprint – What options are viable for your business?
3) Decarbonizing commercial vehicles – Which of the diverse options might fit your market and business model?
4) Regulations and societal pressures – Why should you care about ESG and how can you benefit from it?

This workshop will present a realistic perspective on how the market is evolving and take advantage of the vast resources the SIGMA community brings to the table to help you put into action strategies that can effectively address the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead.
