WASHINGTON August 2, 2007 The Society of Independent Gasoline Marketers of America (SIGMA) announced today that Gulf Oil President and CEO Joseph Petrowski; Chairman of the Board of Directors, CEO, and President of Archer Daniels Midland Company Patricia A. Woertz; and Former House Speaker and WRKO Talk Show Host Thomas M. Finneran will be the keynote speakers for the 49th Annual Meeting on October 12-14, 2007, in Boston, MA.
“SIGMA is continually committed to the success of their members and its Annual Meeting, and there is no doubt that the conference has been enhanced by what we feel is the involvement of first-class speakers,” said SIGMA Executive Vice President Kenneth Doyle.
Along with his commitment and enthusiasm for Gulf Oil and the petroleum-marketing industry as a whole, Joseph Petrowski, Gulf’s president and CEO, has a résumé with a more than 20-year tenure in executive positions with respected energy companies, including Louis Dreyfus Energy, Louis Dreyfus North America and Consolidated Natural Gas Energy. He is also the founder and managing director of JHP Associates, a consulting firm that specializes in supply management, business development and acquisitions. Petrowski will address “The Transforming Role of the Independent Marketer” at the Annual Business Meeting & General Session.
Patricia A. Woertz is Chairman of the Board of Directors, Chief Executive Officer and President of Archer Daniels Midland Company (ADM). Since joining ADM, Woertz has focused on accelerating the company’s global leadership in BioEnergy and expanding its premier position in the agricultural processing value chain. Woertz is an internationally recognized business leader, working frequently with government officials, heads of state, business partners and community stakeholders across the globe. She is consistently named by U.S. and international media to their lists of the most powerful business leaders. In 2006, Fortune Magazine identified her as one of the 25 most influential leaders of the year for her position as CEO of the world’s largest producer of ethanol. Woertz will address “Our Energy Future” at the Annual Business Meeting & General Session.
Former House Speaker Thomas M. Finneran was a member of the House of Representatives since 1979. From 1991 to 1996, former Speaker Finneran served as Chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee. He was elected Speaker of the House in April 1996 and was re-elected in January of 1997, 1999, 2001 and 2003. In 2002 he was elected by the Speakers of 49 states to serve as the president of the National Speakers’ Conference. In January 2007, radio station WRKO announced the arrival of Finneran as the new morning drive talk host. Finneran will talk about current events at SIGMA’s Annual Awards Luncheon.
