SIGMA ANNOUNCES ANNUAL MEETING SPEAKER
Featuring Suncor Energy U.S.A., Inc.’s Mike Ashar

WASHINGTON, June 6, 2006 – The Society of Independent Gasoline Marketers of America (SIGMA) proudly announced a confirmed speaker of the 2006 Annual Meeting on Tuesday, designating industry leader Mike Ashar of Suncor Energy (U.S.A.), Inc. as part of this year’s spectacular education lineup.
Suncor Energy (U.S.A.) Inc. Executive Vice President Mike Ashar will talk about Suncor’s U.S. downstream business, including refining and pipeline operations in Colorado and Wyoming. He’ll also explain Suncor’s growth strategy and the company’s focus on developing one of the world’s largest petroleum resource basins—Canada’s Athabasca oil sands. Canada's oil sands contain nearly 175 billion barrels of crude oil reserves, putting the oil sands second only to Saudi Arabia in crude oil reserves.
Ashar will share with SIGMA members how Suncor continues to pioneer the commercial oil sands development and how the company continues to lead by applying new technology and new ideas to make the oil sands industry cost competitive and to mitigate the environmental footprint created by development.
