Golf Outing (NOT the SIGMA Open Scramble)

Monday, May 19, 12:30 p.m. – Shotgun on Planter’s Row

Cost:  $85.00/$105.00

The Planter's Row Course served as the site of the PGA Senior Tour's Hilton Head Seniors International in 1985. The course offers a different look than its sister courses at Port Royal, with rolling, tree-lined fairways in a park-like setting. Water comes into play on several holes at Planter's Row, and its large and undulating greens require a skilled touch with your putter.  Keeping the ball in play is essential to good scoring on this track.

Spouse Tour – Historic Honey Horn Plantation

(Minimum 20 participants, maximum 35)
Monday, May 20, 1:45 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.

Cost:  $40.00/$60.00

The land that is known as Honey Horn has a rich history that reflects the Lowcountry. The land was once home to cash crops prior to the Civil War. While the main house on the property was begun in 1859 by William J. Graham, it was not completed until after the Civil War. Many additions have been made to the main house over time. This Plantation is one of the most beautiful areas on Hilton Head Island. In addition The Coastal Discovery Museum was moved to Honey Horn in October 2007.  The 68-acre site has a newly-renovated historic building that houses its permanent and temporary exhibits, a gift store and a community meeting room.  The brick-covered terrace at the rear of the Discovery House leads to a boardwalk that overlooks the salt marsh of Jarvis Creek.  Walking tours of the property will address the history of the site and the beautiful flora and fauna found there.

Tennis Tournament
Monday, May 19, 2:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Cost:  $25.00/$35.00
Set amid yellow pines, maples, live oaks and the occasional magnolia, the 16-court Port Royal Racquet Club on the grounds of the Westin Hilton Head is the most park-like of all the clubs on Hilton Head Island. Confederate jasmine covers the fences, perfuming the morning air and taking the place of windscreens. Terraced seating overlooks a hard court on one side of its spacious skylighted clubhouse, a clay court on the other, while meandering pathways provide access to everything else, including two grass courts.  SIGMA hosts a FUN round-robin tournament for all skill levels.  Sign up early to make sure you get a slot or just come watch your friends!

SIGMA Theme Dinner – A Carolina Clambake

Monday, May 19, 6:30 p.m. – 10:00 p.m.

Cost:  $95.00/$110.00

Come and eat with us!  Tickets are priced to cover the cost of food and beverage for the dinner.  With the help of our sponsor we’ll create the perfect Carolina Clambake atmosphere, upgrade the food and beverages and add entertainment.  It’s the perfect evening to relax and enjoy yourself with your peers!  The evening will start with cocktails, followed by dinner and entertainment.  Once again, SIGMA provides an outstanding opportunity for networking against a backdrop of great food and entertainment.  “Resort Casual” is the dress code for this spectacular event!

SIGMA Open Scramble
Tuesday, May 20, 12:30 p.m. – Shotgun on Barony
Cost: $85.00/$105.00
The Barony Course constitutes 18 of Port Royal's 54 holes. The resort has recently been recognized as a "Silver Medal" Resort by Golf magazine. From the tee, many of the holes on Barony appear to be relatively open. But as you approach the green the real challenge of the course becomes clear. The greens are small and protected by deep bunkers and Bermuda rough, demanding a deft touch with the medium and short irons. But we’re here to play for fun so . . . we’ll set up a four-some for you or you may purchase a four-some of your own. Remember though, we like to keep it mixed up a bit by pairing members with suppliers so you can “make new friends!”

Tour – Marine Corps Base at Parris Island
(Minimum 15 participants, maximum 35)
Tuesday, May 20, 12:30 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Cost: $45.00/$65.00
Welcome to the Marine Corps! Pick up your lunch at the Grab & Go Lunch spot, board the bus and prepare for an education! The bus ride to Parris Island takes between 45 minutes and an hour. Once on base you’ll have a 45 minute “Windshield Tour” of the depot visiting multiple historical points. If there is a recruit class in training you’ll get to observe that too! Then it’s on to the Post Museum where you’ll be let loose for an hour and a half to take the tour on your own and browse the gift shop. By 4:15 you’ll be back on the bus and headed back to Hilton Head Island. For military junkies, it’s a once-in-a-lifetime tour!

*Pending approval, another Spouse Tour may be added to the program! Details will be included in future promotions!
