SIGMA Spring Convention

The SIGMA Spring Convention will be held in San Antonio, Texas from April 27-30, 2006 at the Westin La Cantera Resort! SIGMA’s spring signatures— golfing, a great destination and industry-renowned educational sessions—will make this meeting a must attend.

Nestled atop one of the highest points in all of San Antonio, the Westin La Cantera Resort offers breathtaking views of downtown and the beautiful Texas Hill Country. With six pools, health club and spa services, tennis courts, unique dining options, a kids club, three hot tubs, flexible and spacious meeting space, and golf options second to none, rest assured there’s something for everyone!

The resort is built on the site of an abandoned limestone rock quarry—la cantera in Spanish— creating an intimate setting which seems like it is a world away from the cit. Yet the famous River Walk and the Alamo, two of San Antonio’s most-visited attractions, are just 20 minutes away.

• The Riverwalk features cobblestone and flagstone paths that border both sides of the San Antonio River as it winds its way through the middle of the business district. Its atmosphere changes with its sections—it can be quiet and park-like in some stretches, while other areas are full of activity with European-style sidewalk cafes, specialty boutiques and nightclubs.

• The Alamo, established in 1718 as the city’s first mission,is the most famous spot in Texas where 189 defenders fell on March 6, 1836, after repeated attacks by Mexican General Santa Ana’s army. The chapel, one of the most photographed facades in the nation, and the Long Barrack are all that remain of the original fort. Check out the museum which contains relics and mementos from the Republic of Texas and offers narration on the fall of the Alamo.

GOLF
The Westin La Cantera Resort combines the best of golf and luxury. It received numerous honors and awards including: Golf Magazine’s 2004-2005 “Gold Medal Award,” the prestigious Condé Nast Traveler’s 2005 “Gold List” and “Top 100 Golf Courses.” The Resort Course at La Cantera, designed by noted golf course architect Jay Morrish and PGA Tour professional Tom Weiskopf, opened in 1995. Winding through the Texas Hill Country, the par-72 course has been named one of the Top 10 public access golf courses in the U.S. by Golf Magazineand one of the best new courses by Golf Digest.

In addition to this championship 18-hole course—home of the PGA Tour’s Valero Texas Open at La Cantera—the resort gained another 18 holes in the spring of 2001 with the opening of the Palmer Course at La Cantera. Golf legend and award Palmer created a championship course for the resort to rival his other courses, named as America’s Best Courses by Golfweek. The 6,926-yard, par-71 magnificently scenic course will challenge your skills from tee to green. The public course is Palmer’s first in South Texas and his fifth course in the state.

You won’t want to miss America’s best golf and the industry’s best education in San Antonio! Visit SIGMA’s Web site today for more information about the 2006 Spring Convention, including early-bird registration forms.
