SIGMA names Pay It Forward Scholarship recipients
|

The 39 marketer companies that attended Share Groups in 2005 had the opportunity for thei remployees and employee's dependents attending or planning to attend college apply for one of SIGMA's Pay It Forward Scholarships. ERI provided $5,000, DTN and the Share Groupsprovided $1,000 each for a total of $7,000. Four scholarships were awarded: $3,000, $2,000 and two for $1,000. Criteria for selection was based first on volunteer work and then on academic achievement.

$3,000 Scholarship
Kimberly Gray
Kimberly has volunteered two years at Delta Academy for middle school girls, teaching them to be productive members of society through education and experience.
She has completed her Masters at Texas A&M-Kingsville with a 3.88 GPA and is starting her Ph.D work at the University of Texas-Medical Branch in Galveston studying experimental pathology and/or microbiology.

Jesse Moore
Jesse is a volunteer tutor for international students at Grayson College and is majoring in Biology at Grayson County College with a 4.0 GPA.

Claudia Lopez
Claudia volunteers for several organizations, including Toys for Tots, Elementary School Carnivals and Beach and Highway clean up. She is
also an active student athlete, participating in varsity volleyball, track and basketball.
She is majoring in Kinesiology with a minor in Spanish at the University of Texas Pan-American with a 3.14 GPA.

LaDeitra Parker
LaDeitra is active in Drama and Theatre and has had several community performances, including Women's Choice, Black History Touring Show, Christmas Touring Show, NAACP Act-So.
She also wrote and co-directed the plays: I Got the Victory and Now Behold the Lamb. She attends Eisenhower High School and has a 3.4 GPA. She will be attending Sam Houston State in the fall to pursue a degree in Biology while studying to become a dentist.
