San Antonio at the Westin La Cantera Resort on April 27-30 will be the location for the motor fuel industry’s premier
gathering SIGMA’s Spring Convention. “For nearly 20 years, I’ve benefited from the exceptional opportunity these meetings provide to spend quality time with our supply partners and industry peers,” said Richard Calhoun, Spring Convention Chairman and Vice President of Petroleum Supply and Training for QuikTrip Corporation. “I’m pleased to be working with SIGMA’s committees and leadership to ensure this spring’s event meets all of the expectations.” Once again SIGMA is working with NPN and OPIS to deliver an exceptional slate of educational programming that has become the partnership’s trademark.
Education sessions planned include: a full-day fuels track focusing on ULSD, E85 and biodiesel; supply and pricing trends; hedging and the new pricing environment; futures and the Chicago Board of Options Exchange; winning marketing strategies; disaster planning; outlet strategies; and hypermart analysis.
Plus, top-notch industry experts are slated to speak in San Antonio. Tentatively scheduled to speak at the General Session and Business Meeting are Tesoro VP and Chief Economist Lynn Westfall and Valero CEO Bill Klesse.
SIGMA’s Legislative Committee Meeting also provides the opportunity to help shape the association’s future government relations initiatives. Committee members and legal counsel will review what Congress passed in 2005 and early 2006, as well as federal agencies latest activities that directly impact the future of your business.
One of the greatest educational opportunities at any SIGMA meeting is the chance to learn from your fellow successful marketers simply through business strategy conversations in the hallway passing by or at one of the many social events, from receptions to a game of golf. This meeting is a great way to build your networking base by meeting with your supplier and fellow marketers.
A great place to network is playing in the 2006 SIGMA Golf Outing on the Palmer Course at the Westin La Cantera. This spectacular 6,926-yard, par 71 championship course, designed by golfing-great Arnold Palmer, plays out over 225 acres of rugged, natural landscaping. The course offers commanding views of San Antonio and the surrounding countryside.
SIGMA is fortunate to be visiting during the highlight of the San Antonio social calendar
Fiesta San Antonio! The fiesta is a 10-day celebration, including exciting carnivals, fantastic fireworks and much, much more. For more information, check out the web site at www.fiesta-sa.org.
