Committee Charter:

The purpose of this committee is to gather, digest and disseminate information beneficial to members.  The committee focuses on what information members need and what is the best way for SIGMA to deliver that information.  Methods of delivery include, but are not limited to, all written/printed communications, the electronic distribution, and exchange of information.

The committee is made up of a chairman and a vice chairman plus other volunteers.  The committee may use various methods to determine the needs of members including conducting surveys.  The committee solicits and receives recommendations on subjects and topics for written communications of interest to members.

The entire committee helps the staff solicit sponsorships and advertising.

The committee is responsible for all press relations, including consumer and trade press relations.

The Committee, vice chairman and chairman will review all publications and provide feedback on writing style, accuracy, design and appropriateness, including but not limited to Weekly Report, Membership Directory, Statistical Report, Action Alerts, Collier Shannon memoranda, electronic communication and the web site.

The Committee, vice chairman and chairman are specifically responsible for SIGMA's bimonthly publication, Independent Gasoline Marketing and for suggesting topics for future issues.  Together they work with staff to maximize IGM's fulfillment of members' needs and to maximize advertising revenues.
