COMMITTEES
SIGMA is a member-driven organization, directed by a volunteer board that acts on the recommendations of several committees that focus on specific aspects of the industry and the association. Member companies are represented on SIGMA committees by individuals with special interest and/or expertise in the committees’ scope of work, maximizing opportunities to learn and succeed. Via the committee structure, every SIGMA member has the opportunity to gain a voice in guiding the association’s policies and direction. It is the time and energy contributed by the membership that make SIGMA both successful and unique.
Some SIGMA committees are involved in the day-to-day growth, operation and management of the association itself while others are focused on specific industry topics. Committees meet at least four times a year, both separately and in conjunction with other SIGMA events. Between meetings, committee members communicate via teleconference and electronic media to stay abreast of developments and continue committee work. A staff liaison is assigned to support the efforts of each committee.
